Divisions
The Development Services Department is made up of 3 separate Divisions - the Building Standards Division, the Central Permitting Division and the Planning Division. All 3 divisions are found at the Building Standards Center.

Directions
From the West: (Asheville and Hickory, North Carolina)

1. Take I-40 East. Take Exit 150 (NC-115), turn right onto Center Street.
2. Travel South approximately 1.5 miles to downtown Statesville.
3. The Building Standards Center is located on the right, between 1st Avenue and Stockton Street.

From the East: (Winston-Salem, Greensboro and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina)

1. Take I-40 West. Take Exit 150 (NC-115), turn right onto Center Street.
2. Travel South approximately 1.5 miles to downtown Statesville.
3. The Building Standards Center is located on the right, between 1st Avenue and Stockton Street.

From the South: (Charlotte, Mooresville)

1. Take I-77 North. Take Exit 49B toward Statesville/Downtown.
2. Turn right onto Salisbury Road / US-70.
3. Proceed approximately 1.3 miles to East Front Street / US-70.
4. Turn left onto East Front Street, then drive for 0.5 miles to South Center Street.
5. Turn right onto South Center Street. The Building Standards Center is located on the left, between Stockton Street and 1st Avenue.

From the North

1. Take I-77 South. Take Exit 50 (East Broad Street) toward Downtown.
2. Turn right onto East Broad Street and proceed approximately 1.3 miles to Center Street downtown.
3. Turn right onto South Center Street. The Building Standards Center is located on the left, between Stockton Street and 1st Avenue.
