Heartworm Foster to Adopt Program

Iredell County Animal Services is lucky to have an amazing grant to cover the cost of treatment of heartworm positive dogs through the shelter. When an unwanted or stray animal comes into the shelter and tests positive for heartworm disease we are able to send these animals out into their potentially new homes and will be brought back to the shelter once a month for 6 months for treatment. At the end of this time, when the dog tests negative the foster parent will then be able to adopt the dog!
